Anna Adjemian RM

I am so excited to join the skilled and passionate team at The Midwifery Group, who taught, mentored, and nurtured me through my midwifery studies. I love this work that unites my passions for community health, reproductive justice, and the transformative power of pregnancy, birth, and parenting. I am grateful to the many generations of midwives who have gone before me, a lineage of care that I am honoured to carry on.

I believe that parents are able to thrive and build healthy families when they are well supported, and that healthy families in turn create healthy and thriving communities. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care, while affirming you as the expert in your own body, birth, and baby. I hope to create an environment where you feel safe, confident, and empowered.

Before studying midwifery, I worked in education, as a teacher and administrator. I gave birth to my own two kiddos with the care of midwives, and worked as a peer lactation counselor while they were small. I am the daughter of an immigrant and a settler, and the granddaughter of refugees. I was born safely at home with a midwife, on the unceded lands of the Anishnaabe people in Outaouais, Quebec. These histories ground my worldview and practice, keeping me deeply committed to justice, equity, and recognition of our shared humanity and interdependence.

In my free time, I can be found playing outside, gardening, reading, swimming, sharing meals with friends and neighbours, and singing silly songs to my partner, kids, and cats. Thank you for trusting me with your care!
